A study by The Personal Health Informatics research group at Tampere University, Finland, has been presented at the International Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference in Berlin in July 2019
The results of the research show that the Moodmetric ring is an accurate tool for measuring EDA. With the ring measurement signal the person´s stress levels could be classified almost as accurately as with a laboratory device.

Let’s use measured data to reduce the huge cost of work-related stress both in the EU and US
Moodmetric technology shows great promise in identifying stress levels in a work environment
The Personal Health Informatics research group at Tampere University, Finland, has studied the effects of cognitive stress on the body in a simulated research environment.
The preliminary results are encouraging: ‘The initial conclusions appear to support the hypothesis that the Moodmetric smart ring can provide information on the stressfulness of work-related situations almost as accurately as respective laboratory equipment designed to measure EDA’, says Hannu Nieminen, D.Sc. and head of the research.

Moodmetric starts clinical trials with Pihlajalinna and university of Jyväskylä
Press Release 31st May 2018
The Moodmetric smart ring is developed by a Finnish startup company Vigofere Oy. The smart ring measures electrodermal activity (EDA), which tells about the autonomous nervous system activation. Person in charge of the trial is Dr. Minna Tervo from Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, University of Jyväskylä.
– It’s good that there are new objective measurement devices on the market that can help people to understand their load better. In this research we study what the stress index produced by Moodmetric smart ring tell about the stress and recovery of a knowledge worker, Tervo says.
