Terms of Use and Description of Our Service

The Moodmetric Services are provided by Vigofere Oy.

This page is used to inform website visitors and the Moodmetric ring, app and cloud service users regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information if anyone decided to use our Service.

‘Service’ in this description means the complete offering of Vigofere Oy, including the Moodmetric ring purchase and rental, the smart phone app, the cloud service, browsing our website and subscribing to our newsletter. If you choose to use our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. Storing and use of the personal information that we collect of you is described in this Privacy Policy.


The Moodmetric Service include the Moodmetric smart ring (available for purchase at the Moodmetric webshop), and the Moodmetric smart phone app. The Moodmetric smart phone app displays and stores the measurement data of the Moodmetric smart ring.

The Moodmetric ring automatically collects physiological data when worn. The measurement data is uploaded wirelessly to your mobile phone via Moodmetric smart phone app. You also have the possibility to choose to login to the Moodmetric cloud Service, and then your data is made available to you there.

When purchasing our product or service, using our cloud service, browsing our website or ordering our newsletter, certain information is collected.

As a Moodmetric user, you are entitled to use our Service and content we provide. Using the Moodmetric Service (and/or providing input information) does not give you any legal right, title or interest in the Service or related software.

The app and cloud software may automatically download and install updates and upgrades from time to time without further notice to you. These updates are designed to technically improve and/or enhance the Moodmetric Service. You agree that we may automatically deliver such updates and upgrades to you as part of your use of the Moodmetric Service.

The Moodmetric ring is meant for recreational purposes only. Vigofere Oy’s products are not medical devices and should not be used to diagnose or treat any medical conditions. Moodmetric’s products are not authorized for use as critical components in life support devices or systems.

By using the Moodmetric products and Service, you accept that we collect data from you in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

What data is collected

Web shop

When you purchase our Service at our web shop, you will need to provide your credit card or other applicable payment method. We do not collect or store this information because we use a third party to process payments for our Service. When making a payment, you should refer to the Privacy Policy of our payment processor Holvi.

Customer information and purchases

From all purchases, also those made outside our web shop, we collect and store the following information: your first and last names, your e-mail address, company name and company registration number, telephone number, address and other contact information. We also register possible product returns and reclamations.

This information is used primarily for delivery purposes, and should we need to contact you regarding your purchase.

We record information of our customers and other contacts in order to improve our Service: how and when our customer has been in contact with us, what was the reason for the contact and how the matter was resolved.

Measurement data

The Moodmetric ring measures electrodermal activity and movement. Parameters calculated from these measurements are stored in the Moodmetric smart phone app.

The Moodmetric ring and smart phone app provide you the full benefit of your measurement. We do not access your measurement data, unless you login to the Moodmetric cloud Service. Login to the cloud Service is completely voluntary. It gives you the possibility to store your data (e.g. in case you loose your phone), and to easily review your history data.

The Moodmetric cloud Service

The Moodmetric data can be stored to the Moodmetric cloud. Should you wish to you so, you need to separately agree to the terms and conditions of the cloud use.

Login to the cloud requires the following information: first name, last name, email address, gender, geographics and birth year.

This is the background information that we store. We keep your name and email address separately from your measurement data within the Moodmetric cloud. From the mobile app only the measurement data is transferred into the cloud, not manually added input data from the app. E.g. Diary inputs are not stored in the cloud.

We will never disclose any identifiable information about you or your measurement data to a third party. This can only be possible, if this is for your benefit and a separate agreement is made of it. A case like this would be for example, that you want your occupational healthcare provider to see your measurement data. In this case we provide access with this targeted third party with strict limitations and with your clear consent, that you can remove any time.

We can use your anonymous data (no name, nor email address) as a part of compilations, statistics and analyses for research, scientific and commercial purposes. We might use this data to enable us to monitor, review and further develop our products and Service, for our our internal records regarding the use of our Service and to support our sales and marketing.

We do no direct marketing except via our Newsletter, where you can sign off any time you want. We might contact you directly only in very important matters, such as product safety information or information regarding your product delivery.


The app does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you.

In a case of an error in the smart phone app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

Regarding our website and the cloud service we and our Service providers use server log information for purposes such as calculating site usage levels, helping diagnose problems and improve site maintenance. These server logs may include information such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, host name, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request, the time(s) of your visit(s) and the web page(s) that you visited. Collecting IP addresses is standard practice on the Internet and is done automatically by many web sites.

The Moodmetric cloud data is stored in servers in Finland, EU. The cloud hosting service is provided by Data Center Finland Oy.

Other possible uses of your data

Mandatory disclosures: We may be obligated by mandatory law to disclose the data we collect to certain authorities or other third parties. We may also disclose and otherwise process the data we collect in accordance with applicable law to defend our legitimate interests, for example, in civil or criminal legal proceedings.

Corporate Transactions: We may disclose or transfer the data we collect in connection with the sale, merger, bankruptcy, sale of assets or reorganization of our company or other corporate settlement.


Cookies are files with small amount of data that is commonly used an anonymous unique identifier. These are sent to your browser from the website that you visit and are stored on your device internal memory.

This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collection information and to improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.


We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons: To facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services, to analyze and market our Service.

These third parties may have access to your personal information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.


This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.


Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16. In the case we discover that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.

Data safety

We collect and store a very limited amount of personal data. Personally identifiable information is in secure environment and we have taken reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access, use, alteration, destruction or disclosure of this information.

A very small team can access to personal registers at Vigofere Oy.  We will take all reasonable precautions to ensure that everyone inside Vigofere Oy who have been specifically granted access to information about you have received adequate training to ensure that they process that information only in accordance with this policy and with our obligations under applicable legislations.

Information on how to contact us to change or get copies of your data

Should you wish to review the data being held by us about you, you have the right to request details. Please make any requests in writing to us and we will comply with your request promptly.

Should you wish us to permanently delete your Personal Data being held by us, we will do so upon your request. We will delete all data, with the exception of the anonymized measurement data within the Moodmetric cloud service.  In such case you understand, that we will not be able to provide the Service to you anymore.

Important about data security in internet and mobile service use

The use of our Service requires a smart phone and an Internet connection. You are responsible for obtaining your own Internet connection, mobile and otherwise, to use our Service. You should understand that your mobile phone, computer and other electronic devices are susceptible to attack from third parties. We recommend you use firewalls, store your passwords in a safe place, and create passwords for yourself that are strong. The security of your Internet connection and/or network is your responsibility and out of our control.


We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
